Blue and Gold Banquet

In March we will hold our annual Blue & Gold Banquet to celebrate the anniversary of Scouting. This event brings families together for an evening of fun, inspiration, recognition, and food. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2019

  • 4:30, Scouts and Families Arrive
  • 4:45-5:30, Entertainment - Animal Show (auditorium)
  • 5:30-5:40, Friends of Scouting Presentation
  • 5:40-6:20pm, Dinner and Dessert (cafeteria)
  • 6:30-6:45pm, Awards & Recognitions Program (auditorium)
  • 6:45-7:30pm, Webelos II Bridging Ceremony (auditorium)
  • 7:30-7:45pm, Coordinator Clean up (cafeteria)

Uniform: This is a Class A Uniform event. Please have your Scout dress properly for the occasion.

Theme: This year's B&G theme is "LEGO". For entertainment, we will be having an animal show. As part of dinner, there will be three contests: (1) cake decorating contest, (2) table decorating, and (3) Den poster contest.

The theme for the cake and table decorating contests is "LEGO." The Den poster contest is to showcase all the fun and adventures your Den has had through scouting.

The Pack Committee will provide Special B&G Theme Awards to the Den that best incorporates the theme into their table decorations and an award for the best cake. .

Entertainment: Our entertainment will be a 45 minute animal show in the auditorium.

Friends of Scouting: Associated with this event every year is a brief time to reflect on the importance of scouting in our lives and what more we can do to give back to the scouting movement. A presenter from the Goose Creek District will talk with the Pack (primarily the adults) about the Friends of Scouting Campaign. Please bring your checkbooks to the event and consider contributing to this important cause. We are annually one of the most giving Pack's in the District. Read more at Friends of Scouting.

Dinner: There will be a catered dinner at a cost of $12.00 per person. Pack 1483 Cub Scouts and children under five are free. Please pay no later than March 15th, so we can provide an accurate head count for the caterer.Menu: TBD with both meat and vegetarian options.

PayPal is our preferred payment system and is secure. NO credit information is being stored anywhere on our site. Please do not wait until the last minute to pay, the caterer needs to know well in advance how many people to set for. All payments MUST be made by March 15th.

Table Decorating Contest: The Pack Committee will again provide a Special B&G Theme Award to the Den that best incorporates the theme into their table decorations and dinner menu -- it's time to be creative!

Cake Decorating Contest: The Pack Committee will provide a Special B&G Theme Award to the Den that best incorporates the theme into a cake. Each den is asked to work with their den to design, prepare, and deliver a ready-to-eat cake for the B&G. The cakes will be judged and after dinner shared with all attendees. Remember to bring a label with your den # and the ingredients used in your cake (for those with allergies). Each cake should feed 20-25 people. Please bring cutting utensils and have a person assigned to cut and serve the cake during dessert time.

Den B&G Coordinators: Your den's cake and table decorations are the responsibility of the Den Leader or the Den's assigned B&G Coordinator. The Pack B&G Coordinator will be in contact with the Den Leaders shortly. Any questions from the rest of the pack should be directed your respective Den Leader and/or Den Coordinator.

Program: The program part of the evening will include two parts: Awards & Recognitions Program and the Webelos II Bridging to Boy Scouts Ceremony. The Bridging Ceremony is a Pack-wide event and all are encouraged to stay.
