Join us in the Fall for our Join Scouting Night! Whether you are brand new to the world of Scouting, coming from another Pack, or returning to Pack 1483, come see what we have in store for the next year! The youth will enjoy games and fun based on some of our most popular events (like Pinewood Derby, Rockets, and more) while the Parents learn about Scouting and our Pack.
The Join Scouting Night page will be linked here soon.
Bring a friend to any Cub Scout event! If they register and join Pack 1483, you earn the Recruiter Tab!
Joining Cub Scouts starts with Registering with Scouting America. Be sure to register your Youth first! You'll need to pay the annual registration fees up front. The Scout Life Magazine is optional, but highly recommended (especially for older Cub Scouts). Once registered, we'll be able to accept your application and get you added to all the wonderful things we have to offer.

Pack Dues cover all advancements and nearly all activities for the Pack! Once you've paid your Pack Dues, you'll get any missing patches for the uniform, a neckerchief and slide for your rank, and a Class B uniform (t-shirt). If you sell enough popcorn during our fundraisers, you might make enough to not need to pay dues next year!
Dues for 2025-2026 are $125 for Lions - Webelos and $75 for AOLs. For Cubs joining later in the year, please contact us to get a pro-rated amount: Info@Pack1483.org
Please make your check out to Pack 1483 and hand it to your Den Leader at a Den Meeting or to the check-in desk at a Pack Meeting.
All Cub Scouts and Registered Adults MUST complete their Annual Health and Medical Records. Additionally, ALL participants in Scouting activities (Pack, Den, or otherwise) must also complete an AHMR parts A and B.
For more information about this form and why it is important, check scouting.org/health-and-safety/ahmr/
Forms may be turned in at Den or Pack Meetings to the Den Leader or check-in desk.
ALL forms are held in confidence by the Committee Chair and are destroyed the following August. Please do not email these forms!
Like any good team, Scouting has a uniform. The Class A uniform for Cub Scouts is the blue long or short sleeve, button up shirt seen here. Lion Cubs have their own Lion T-Shirt that counts as a Class A instead, but are welcome to wear the standard shirt.
Pack 1483 requests that all Cubs maintain a Class A uniform top for Pack Meetings and certain events. The top should have the Scouting America logo, Scouting World Crest, United States Flag, National Capital Area Council shoulder patch, and Pack 1483 numerals at minimum. A Class A Uniform should include the top, neckerchief and slide, closed toed shoes, and blue or black pants/shorts/skirt. Denim jeans without holes are acceptable. Class A Uniform tops are available at any Scout Shop or online at scoutshop.org.
All Cubs will also be provided a Class B uniform t-shirt once they have paid their dues. Generally, we only purchase new Class B uniforms every other year. Cubs are welcome to wear any Pack 1483 Class B shirt unless the event specifies the current year's shirt.
ScoutBook keeps track of your Scout's advancements and progress within Scouting. Once you have registered your scout, you should have access to ScoutBook by going to ScoutBook.Scouting.Org and signing in with your my.scouting.org information.
Alternatively, Scoutbook Plus is available at advancements.scouting.org and is a bit faster and easier to use
If you have any questions or concerns, please email info@pack1483.org.
Reviewing this packet with your Cub Scout may be difficult, but it is an annual requirement for all ranks. The Bobcat Adventure for each rank includes asking parents to review the guide and perform the exercises in the guide that start on page 19.
Scouting America is committed to ensuring your Scout is safe from all forms of child abuse. All hard-copy rank handbooks come with a printed copy. The guide is also available at scouting.org/training/youth/parents-guides/ as a PDF in both English and Spanish.
Parents - please take photos at any and all Scouting Events! Upload your favorites to our Photo Album so we can all share. If you have trouble accessing the album, please email webmaster@pack1483.org.

Everything we do as a Pack is loaded on our Pack Calendar. We use Google Calendar to manage our Pack and Den events. You should see a list of events tailored to you here. If not, try clicking the "+" in the bottom right of the calendar window to subscribe. Den calendars are controlled by the Den Leaders, but we try to keep them up to date.
You can also see this calendar in a larger format at https://www.pack1483.org/calendar.
If you have any questions/concerns or have any trouble subscribing to the calendar, please email webmaster@pack1483.org.
Our Fall Campout is coming up soon! Register your Scouting Family on our Signup Genius so we know how many people will be joining us. Dinner is provided on Saturday and a light breakfast on Sunday is provided for those who stay overnight. Camping is a requirement for most ranks and is a ton of fun for the whole family!
Register: CLOSED - 2026 comming soon
Cubs should arrive in their Class B uniforms and are expected to remain in their Class B until after the campfire. Scout families will need to provide their own tents, sleeping gear, flashlights, chairs, and transportation. As a reminder, please do not bring food into or around the tents, as this may attract unwanted wildlife. All food should be stored in a vehicle and eaten around the firepit or other designated areas.
If you have never camped before or need to borrow camping gear, please contact our Outdoors Chair, Mike Boatright, at outdoors@pack1483.org.
For more information on camping, check our Camping Page.
Parents! Download the Trail's End app and sign up your Scouts to start selling Popcorn! When registering, make sure to use the the unit code below.
